If 20 years ago people dreamed about work at an International company, today it isn’t a fairy tale for ambitious people. Nowadays there are a lot of possibilities for personal development. Step by step branches of International companies appear in Russian towns and it is easy to get a good position without traveling abroad. Also many domestic companies started to do business by “western way”.
So, at the certain time for each person, who seriously wants to develop his career, there is a choice between Russian and International company.
There are a lot of questions at this stage:
Where is it better to develop oneself?
Where is it better to make a progress?
What kind of a company will give you more possibilities in getting experience?
What about salary and other conditions of work? ..... etc.
In other words, a person should know the main differences between these companies to make a right choice.
“Work at an International company” it is a very “sweet” phrase for one person and however it may seem not so attractive to another.
On the one hand, western companies offer you good “white” salary, clear responsibilities, different trainings and alluring benefits, such as sport classes, feeding, mobile connection, delivery to work and extra medical insurance. But on the other hand, if you want to work there you should observe all internal instructions and rules and be one of the small mechanisms of a large “system”. It is not easy as it might seem.
In this essay I tried to explain specific traits of International and Russian Companies and share my opinion of the issue. I used different research articles from mass media (Internet, periodicals) and also my own experience. I hope it will be useful for people who are in two minds about this issue.
